Stadtrundgang 2

Stadtrundgang 2
Von den Kaiserthermen bis zur Römerbrücke
Trier, Imperial Baths
Weberbach 41, 54290 Trier (Germany) - map
Our city tour 2 takes you on the trail of bathing culture from antiquity to the 20th century. The city tour looks for traces of water in the city along the Decumanus. You will also pass a selection of city center sights off the beaten track. These include three buildings, the Imperial Baths, the Babarathermen and the Roman Bridge, which are part of the city's UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In several stations you will go through the history of the bathing industry in the city of Trier from the Romans to the present day. Starting with the interior tour of the imperial baths, which provide insights into Roman bathing culture, we head from Tufa towards Neustraße. The tour then follows the Romans' former main water pipe and continues through the belt of avenues, also known as the city's green lung, to the synagogue. At the next stop, the Babarathermen, you can admire the hypocausts and gain an insight into how the large baths were heated in ancient times. The last section of the tour takes you to the Moselle and the Roman Bridge. Because if you are interested in Trier's water world, Germany's oldest bridge should of course not be missed, before the tour ends at the cranes and with the topic "Swimming in the Moselle".
Course: Kaiserthermen - Neustraße - Neutor - Südallee - Synagogue - Barbarathermen - Römerbrücke - Kranen on the banks of the Moselle
A notice:
The tour is not barrier-free.
